My name is Mary-Kate Burkert, and I am an enthusiastic and innovative journalism, marketing and social media strategist. In May 2014, I graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication, with a minor in Child, Adult and Family Services. Following graduation, I relocated to Houston and worked as a Donor Relations Coordinator for United Way of Greater Houston.
In order to be near family, I returned to the Midwest and am currently employed at the YMCA of Greater Des Moines. I enjoy using my education and experiences to promote a community-focused organization. Aside from providing administrative support, as well as social media and marketing efforts for the YMCA, I am a freelance writer for Blogmutt, an internet marketing service.
